Notebook Paper and the Environment

 

 

There is a large debate about whether recycled paper is actually that environmentally friendly compared to virgin pulp – see the arguments in detail at:

But even if you do not elect for recycled paper products we would recommend (and we only supply) those products which are FSC or PEFC accredited. The FSC or Forest Stewardship Council and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) are international trade bodies that ensure that paper and wood products come from sustainable sources. For paper to carry the FSC or PEFC mark the manufacturer must prove the provenance of the paper back through pulp to the forests it came from and demonstrate that these trees are manged in a sustainable way.
